This morning, with the first snow of the season falling and frosting my neighborhood like powdered sugar, I can honestly look around and say it's a beautiful world. Each snowflake, the shape of each tree, even the irregularities of the snow on the grass - everything is a special evidence of God's hand in creation.
Yet there's something far more wonderful yet to come. In the lectionary today I read Isaiah 11-12. There is coming a time when the Lord will come to gather all his people to himself, making permanent peace, resulting in great thanksgiving. We will see our God face to face and proclaim the perfect salvation that he has done. Rejoice! The Lord has turned his anger against sin away, but the death of hs son Jesus. Rejoice! This same Jesus rose from the grave as the firstfruits of the resurrection. Rejoice! We too, through belief in his name, will join Jesus in resurrection to eternal life.
